Job Purpose
The key objectives for the Fund Finance Manager (‘FFM’) role is to assist the Senior Fund Finance Manager (“SSFM”) with the management and financial accounting responsibilities. The FFM should aim to develop technical, commercial and management skills in order to progress to the SSFM role
Role Responsibilities
The FFM will be responsible for managing the statutory and investor reporting related to financial account.
This could include:
Financial Accounting – Statutory
· Preparing and monitoring the reporting timetable;
· Reviewing specific financial balances within the consolidated accounts;
· Preparing and reviewing working papers for the auditors;
· Provide reasoned argument for implementation and interpretation of reporting standards;
· Developing an awareness of IFRS and other developments relevant to the industry and the financial statements in order that these are appropriately planned for; and
· Reviewing standalone accounts.
Financial Accounting – Investor Reporting
· Preparing and managing the timetable for investor reporting;
· Reviewing the local prop co accounts, the holding companies within the structure and the consolidated accounts and signing off before inclusion in the reporting;
· Reviewing elements of the NAV or adjusted NAV (including INREV adjustments) calculations; Seeking verification of the results with the portfolio managers; and
· Writing parts of the financial commentary to be included in the report, explaining to investors in non-accountants language the movements in the financial statements and NAV calculations;
Client Services and Investors
The FFM be the financial representative for the fund for both the client services team and investors. This includes:
· Building relationships with client services team;
· Supervision of third-party providers (such as administrators, lawyers, etc), to ensure all deadlines are met;
· Develop an understanding of who are investors are and their reporting requirements;
· Develop an understanding of the Savills Investment Management brand; · Assist with the preparation of investor drawdowns and distributions; and
· Assist with preparing supporting schedules to answer investor queries.
Banking, Debt and Cash Management
The FFM will manage the cash management and day to day banking. This includes:
· Cash management across the entire structure;
· Review of payments for approval of certain payments;
· Review of calculation of intercompany interest payments;
· Review of bank reconciliations;
· Completion / review of treasury management information reporting; and
· Preparation of bank reporting.
Transaction Support
The FFM will provide financial assistance. This includes:
· Reviewing financial due diligence; ·
Preparing information as required to support the transaction process;
· Develop an understanding of tax structuring; and
· Preparing information for the transaction approval committee reports.
Corporate Governance
The FFM will ensure that the companies in the structure are appropriately managed. This includes;
· Developing an understanding for the requirements to hold board meetings and shareholder meetings;
· Preparing and presenting information for board meetings;
· Ensure that all required companies and tax filings are done on a timely manner; and
Taxation
The FFM will provide support to the SFFM with managing the tax structure and tax reporting of the funds him/her are responsible for. This Includes:
· Develop an understanding of the fund tax structure and substance requirements;
· Develop an understanding of ongoing management of the structure;
· Assist in ensuring that documentation is kept up to do date; and
· Coordination and review of tax returns, vat returns, and other required compliance obligations.
Management
The FFM is responsible for managing his/her own deadlines, workload and developing project management skills.
The FFM will be required to undertake other ad hoc tasks or projects from time to time.
Person Specification
Degree educated;
· Qualified Accountant (post 1.5-2.0 year minimum);
· Good Excel skills and competence with other Microsoft Office packages;
· Good knowledge of AI programs (if possible);
· Knowledge of IFRS (and local GAAP, if IFRS is not accepted locally);
· Knowledge of local corporate and VAT taxation requirements;
· Good communication skills;
· Strong inter personal skills, able to interface with non Finance colleagues, investors, banks and
service providers;
· Self starter with a proactive attitude and be able to demonstrate this during interview;
· Excellent written and spoken English; and
· A team player.
